The Amie Makeup Bag

They’re here!!  Our 2nd shipment from the Umucyo Sewing Cooperative arrived last week from Kigali, Rwanda and we are thrilled to share some brand new products with you!  The seamstresses have been working hard on this beautiful collection and the fabrics are stunning!

Our favorite item is a very special collaboration and fundraiser for a dear friend of ours named Laura.  Her family is adopting a little girl from Haiti and we were so excited to partner with her to help raise funds to bring her daughter home!

Laura helped select the fabrics for a beautiful makeup bag, which we named the “Amie.” Amie means “beloved” in French, the language frequently spoken in Haiti.  We love this combination of teal, red, orange, black, and yellow!

The bag has an adorable (and functional) bow handle on top and a zippered pocket on the inside.  You won’t believe how much this makeup bag holds!  It’s the perfect gift idea for end-of-the-year teacher gifts, graduation, etc.

Last month we started pre-sales on this item and we’re happy to report that are almost SOLD OUT!  Now that the bags are here in person, they have been flying off the shelves!  We only have 30 left in stock.  Have you purchased yours yet?  Shop now!

Once the Amie Makeup Bag sells out, we’ll be debuting the rest of the collection for sale on our site!  Stay tuned!

And one more exciting announcement: Brandi and I just purchased our plane tickets to fly to Uganda and Rwanda this summer!!  We are SO excited about meeting with our Noonday Collection artisan partners in Kampala, and then the Umucyo ladies in Kigali.  Follow along on instagram @thefairtradefashionistas and #thefairtradefashionistastravel to hear all about our adventures!  We can’t wait to share more about how your fair trade purchases are making a huge impact on the lives of artisans across the globe.

In Style & Love,

Shannon
